On March 19, 2025, the 2024 Progress Exchange Conference of the National
Natural Science Foundation of China Excellent Research Group Project (formerly
the Basic Science Center Project) "Mechanisms and Intervention Research on
Instinctive Behavior and Related Mental Disorders" was held in Beijing.
This outstanding research group project revolves around the core scientific
question of "Mechanisms and Intervention Research on Instinctive Behavior and
Related Mental Disorders", aiming to reveal the neural network mechanisms of
different hierarchical states of instinctual behavior, clarify the principles of
interaction between instinctual behavior circuits, elucidate the common neural
circuit basis of abnormal causes of mental disorders, and establish new methods
for diagnosing and treating instinctual behavior related mental disorders. The
project leader and project backbone reported on the progress of work in 2024 and
the next stage of work plan, and exchanged and discussed with the expert group.
The expert group affirmed the progress and achievements of the project, and put
forward constructive suggestions in promoting the transformation of basic
research and clinical applications, and promoting domestic and international
academic cooperation.
Project team members, heads of relevant departments at Peking University
and Zhejiang University, and staff from the Medical Science Department of the
National Natural Science Foundation of China attended the meeting.
