1393 items! Shanghai Jiao Tong University\'s 2024 National Natural Science Foundation project achieves new glory, leading the way for eight consecutive years

  

  Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (hereinafter referred to as the "NSFC") announced the evaluation results of the 2024 National Natural Science Foundation centralized acceptance application projects. According to the currently released project statistics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University has achieved over a thousand approved projects for the eighth consecutive year, with new breakthroughs in the number of projects in multiple categories.


  As of now, Shanghai Jiao Tong University has received a total of 1393 project grants, setting a new historical high with a direct funding of 779 million yuan. Among them, there are 648 general projects, 30 key projects, 6 key international (regional) cooperation projects, 637 youth science fund projects, 26 excellent youth science fund projects, 15 national outstanding youth science fund projects (including 2 continuing grants), 3 innovative research group projects, 14 foreign scholar research fund projects, and 3 cooperative innovative research team projects. In addition, projects such as the Basic Science Center and the Joint Fund are currently undergoing review or approval processes.
     According to the data released by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, in 2024, the foundation will support 20758 general projects, 745 key projects, 87 key international (regional) cooperative research projects, 23226 youth science fund projects, 654 excellent youth science fund projects, 433 national outstanding youth science fund projects, 43 innovative research group projects, 3519 regional science fund projects, 315 foreign scholar research fund projects, and 25 cooperative innovation research team projects.

  Shanghai Jiao Tong University, abbreviated as "SJTU", is located in Shanghai and is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and jointly built with Shanghai. It is a centrally administered university and one of the oldest higher education institutions in China.
