[Animal modeling - Drug efficacy evaluation] - Electrical stimulation induced myocardial ischemia model

  1. Modeling material animal: male rabbit; Instrument: Electrical Stimulator.

  2. Modeling method: Electrical stimulation of the dorsal medial nucleus of the hypothalamus and the optic nerve edge area on the right side of the animal. Stimulation parameters: wave width of 0.2ms, frequency of 50 times/s, weak stimulation (12V) and strong stimulation (60V). First, weak stimulation is applied for 5 minutes, followed by 2-3 consecutive stimulations with an interval of 1-3 minutes before switching to strong stimulation 2-3 times. The model is created after 30 minutes.

  3. Modeling principle: Electrical stimulation of the right hypothalamus causes myocardial ischemia in animals.

  4. Changes after modeling: Ischemic electrocardiogram changes characterized by ST segment depression can be obtained after modeling, lasting for several hours or more, with flat or inverted T waves and slowed heart rate.

  5. Precautions: Surgical instruments should be strictly disinfected to prevent surgical infections, surgical trauma should be minimized, and aseptic operation should be strictly enforced.
