【Animal modeling drug efficacy evaluation】 - Doxorubicin induced toxic acute renal failure model

  1. Modeling material animals: rats, weighing 220-250g; Drug: Doxorubicin.

  2. Modeling method: Rats were intravenously injected with 6mg/kg of doxorubicin.

  3. Modeling principle: Under the action of drug metabolizing enzymes in the body, doxorubicin forms semiquinone radicals, which react with oxidation to generate superoxide anions and hydroxyl radicals. Both can cause damage to the kidneys through membrane lipid peroxidation.

  4. Changes after modeling: On the 7th day of the experiment, the model produced a large amount of proteinuria, which became more pronounced on the 14th day. At the same time, a large amount of ascites, hypoalbuminemia, hypercholesterolemia, and pathological changes occurred in the renal tubules and glomeruli.
