1. Modeling material animal: dog; Medications: Pentobarbital, hot water, turpentine.
2. Modeling method: Animals were fasted and deprived of water for 16 hours, and urine volume was measured every 15 minutes for a total of 2 measurements. For dogs with ureteral fistula or those that have not undergone surgery, anesthesia with pentobarbital is performed followed by laparotomy. A ureteral catheter (preferably on the left side due to its lower position) is inserted to collect urine volume. Then, 5-6ml of hot water at 80-90 ℃ or 1ml of 25% turpentine oil is injected into the kidney tissue through the skin.
3. The principle of modeling causes kidney injury to induce animal nephritis models.
4. Changes after modeling: 30 minutes after modeling, the urine output of the damaged kidney was measured. If it exceeded the original level by 1-2 times, polyuria occurred, and the specific gravity decreased from 1.020 to 1.010. The urine is red in color, which is caused by damage to the renal blood vessels and mixed with blood and protein. There are red blood cells and white blood cells in the urine sediment. Sometimes protein can also be present in the urine secreted by the healthy kidney, up to 2mg%. Polyuria begins to recover after 2-3 days, and there is still blood and protein in the urine.
