(1) Reproduction method: Adult rats. The amount of rhubarb, Magnolia officinalis, and Fructus Aurantii is 1:1:1. Soak in cold water for 30 minutes, then simmer over stable heat for 20 minutes. The filtrate is concentrated in water solution (60 ℃), and the final concentration is equivalent to 2g of raw medicine per milliliter. Administer medication orally twice a day, 2ml each time, for 6 consecutive weeks. Observe the general condition of the animals. At the end of the experiment, blood samples were collected to detect serum IgG, percentage of peripheral blood T lymphocytes, white blood cell luminescence intensity, peripheral blood SOD, and the percentage of pulmonary macrophage phagocytosis. The animals were euthanized and the gastrointestinal mucosa was taken for histopathological observation.
(2) Model characteristics: The animal's weight growth rate slows down, with mental fatigue, lethargy, thin arched back, fatigue and fear of cold, rough and matte fur, but no loose stools. The content of IgG in serum, the percentage of peripheral blood T lymphocytes, the intensity of white blood cell luminescence (which is relative to the content of free radicals in peripheral blood), the percentage of pulmonary macrophage phagocytosis, and the percentage of SOD in peripheral blood significantly decreased. Scanning electron microscopy of the gastrointestinal mucosa reveals the presence of erosive and ulcerative lesions on the surface of the gastric mucosal epithelial cells. The normal site has clear cell boundaries, which protrude into the lumen in a circular or elliptical shape. The boundaries of the intestinal mucosal epithelial cells are not very clear, and the arrangement is also irregular. If carefully observed, erosive and ulcerative lesions can be observed.
(3) The three herbs used in this model of comparative medicine are mostly used for the symptoms of abdominal qi stagnation and discomfort, as well as the accumulation of internal qi due to food accumulation. If used excessively, it can damage the vital energy. After long-term overfeeding, it is certain to form the phenomenon of consuming qi, breaking the vital energy, and damaging the vital energy. The medication used in this model is very similar to Xiaochengqi Tang. Xiaochengqi Tang mainly focuses on defecation, so it is mainly used with Qi medicine as a supplement. The medication used in this model is mainly Houpu and Zhishi, so no symptoms of diarrhea or loose stools were found during the entire modeling process. Therefore, it can be concluded that this model is not caused by diarrhea, but by consuming qi and breaking qi. The model of spleen qi deficiency caused by consuming qi to break qi is reliable and clearly eliminates doubts about spleen yin deficiency or spleen yang deficiency.
